Today, more than 50 customers have implemented Greatview® Smart Packaging technology on their products, bringing 5.3 billion cartons with variable content including QR codes to consumers worldwide.
Greatview® Smart Packaging makes it possible to print unique images/text/QR codes on each individual carton, adding differentiation and appeal beyond the package itself. Through a unique QR code, a simple smartphone scan directs consumers to tailored and interactive sites that can contain product information, marketing activities, instant wins and competitions whilst enabling granular traceability and supply chain management as well as two-way communication between consumers and brands.
Greatview develops environmentally-friendly products to support customers’ sustainable responsibilities and commitments. Greatview® Planet uses bio-attributed polymers that are derived from tall oil, a by-product of paper making which is sourced from responsibly managed European forests. This increases the proportion of renewable, plant-derived materials in our packaging material. Another sustainable option is Greatview® Origin, which gives a natural look to packaging and paper straws.
Greatview provides customers with high quality and competitively priced aseptic packaging. Greatview’s roll-fed packaging material is compatible with the majority of Tetra Brik® Aseptic and many Tetra Prisma® Aseptic filling machine configurations. This year we introduce brand new formats such as Greatview® Aseptic Brick 1000mL Square, Greatview® Aseptic Brick 200mL Slim Ripple, Greatview® Aseptic Brick 180mL, as well as Greatview® Eco-packaging, a 330mL Octagon format with a pull-tab closure.
Greatview affirmed its commitment to tackling the overuse of plastic by agreeing to supply the Caribbean beverage producer S.M. Jaleel and Company Limited with paper straws made from FSC™-certified fibre. Through the use of paper straws, beverage manufacturers can communicate their commitment to environmental protection to their customers with an easily perceivable change.
As one of the Caribbean’s largest distributers of non-alcoholic beverages, S.M. Jaleel acted ahead of governmental legislation that has prohibited single-use plastic straws since the beginning of 2021. As governments and consumers around the world limit single-use plastics, Greatview is ready to equip its partners with the means to adapt.
Greatview supports initiatives that aim to protect our planet. We are committed to raising awareness of the benefits of reducing plastic usage and by offering environmentally-friendly packaging with paper straws to our customers, we support them in this responsibility.
Greatview’s innovative Smart Packaging provided a profitable upgrade for OmanRefCo’s popular juice brand Topfruit. Using variable printing technology, each Topfruit juice carton was imprinted with a unique smartphone-readable QR code and picture from 1 of 22 diverse Omani landmarks. The marketing potential offered by Greatview® Smart Packaging for this campaign won the “Best Marketing Campaign” at the 2020 World Beverage Innovation Awards.
The initiative showcased Omani cultural and tourist highlights to domestic and international consumers, boosting local tourism economy and increasing consumer engagement and encouraging brand loyalty. Additionally, when consumers scanned the QR codes with a smartphone, they could automatically collect different virtual landmark stickers and win prizes, thus offering further incentivisation for purchase. The transparency and simplicity of this brand-to-consumer competition fuelled consumers’ desire to participate.
