About us

MAJA-Maschinenfabrik, located in the South German village of Kehl-Goldscheuer, was founded in the year 1955.

Since August 2018, MAJA is part of MAREL, the leading global provider of advanced processing systems and services to the poultry, meat and fish industries.

MAJA develops, produces and distributes high-quality machines for food processing and refrigeration. The product range is divided into three main groups:

Ice machines & storage systems
Portioning / cutting solutions
The company’s core products in the field of meat processing include derinding, membrane skinning and defatting machines for red meat as well as skinners for fish and poultry. Since the end of the nineties, MAJA offers portion-control cutting systems for fresh meat to the worldwide meat processing industry. MAJA ice machines are mainly used for refrigeration and attractive presentation of fresh foodstuff, as well as for the production of meat and bakery products.

Membrane and poultry skinners

By removing the membranes or senews with a membrane skinning or desinewing machine from high-quality meat cuts in connection with the anatomic cut off, the yield can be increased considerably. The membrane skinning machines, type EVM:

Fish Skinners

Fish skinning in an extremely profitable way.
With the MAJA fish skinning machines nearly all types of freshwater and saltwater fish can be skinned in an optimum way. The MAJA variety ranges from compact table machines and manual fish skinners to automatic conveyorized machines for processing of up to 10 tons of salmon fillets per day. Most appreciated by salmon processors: The MAJA-patented deep-skinning system allows a yield increase of up to 3 % compared to usual methods of deep-skinning.
